How to get a WD 500gb mybook to go Ethernet?
i have an WD 500gb mybook and would like to get my usb plug from hard drive to go into my network ethernet??
could i use a printer server????????
A dedicated printer server would be the wrong protocols, so no. However, new printer server-like products are adding this functionality.
You could:
A. Plug the drive into a computer's USB port, and share the drive over the network (windows file sharing, or even better, linux and NFS or Samba).
B. Buy a product meant to do this. See references below for some examples. They are basically tiny dedicated computers which do what I mentioned above.
