Is a 400 watt power supply sufficient for a mid range gaming computer?
I was wondering wether a 400 watt power supply was sufficient for:
Intel core 2 quad 2.66
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro
Radeon hd 4870
Hitachi 500gb 7200rpm drive
+keyboard/mouse.
The best thing to do is check out each piece of hardware by simply going to the manufacturer's site and searching for the model number. Once your there, check out the specifications for each piece and they should tell you how much wattage they will be using. Just make sure it's a decent number below your current power supply
However, going with assumption here, I'd really recommend upgrading to a 750W. Nowadays 400W probably won't get you too much, and honestly, I think you may need more wattage anyway for your system.
