Server Power Cables

Home Server information?

I am building a gaming, photo editing, video editing rig in a next 6 months and i want to build a home server to go along side it for other users in my family to access music and other files. I have so far chosen a case which is a Lian-li PC-A71F and some hard drives, 10 WD Caviar Green Power 2TB.
it is a ridiculous amount of space i know but its better to have the space when you need it then not have the space when you need it the most!

Anyway what else do i need apart from the HDD, Case, PSU, MOBO and so on?
Also how do i connect all the hdd to a 6/8 sata mobo?
I cannot find a ten sata mobo anywhere!

Also if i connected the home server to my pc via an ethernet cable would i be able to access the files still? or would it have to be via an I.p address? I'm new to all this server crap!

Make sure you get a good RAID controller to go with that.
I'd use RAID 5 or 6 depending on how much redundancy you want.
Then if one (or two in RAID 6) of your drives fails, you don't lose any data.

Side note: Green drives are terrible for RAID.

Honestly, you can always add space later.
Why not start with an amount of storage that you'll actually use.
