How do we set up a server for a website?

My business partners and I are starting up a website which we have funding for and one of the things we need to include in our business plan is the cost of servers and how all that works. Can someone please explain how to set up servers and/or data centers and what kind of costs we are looking at?
I need to know what kind of costs. Like a number so I can put it into my business plan.
