which is easy to learn sql server 2005 dba or linux administration?
In my opinion they are two different things. One is database related and the other operating system. Depending on your skill level, interest and background you will be able to determine which one is easier. If you have some knowledge of Unix you might be able to quickly pickup Linux and may in fact enjoy the user friendly interface that Linux offers. As far as any dba administration, if you want to manage backend operations for a SQL box you need to also understand what role the database actually plays to add value to the process.
