I bought a dual core AMD Turion processor and it causes monitor to not turn on. Anyway to fix?
If i put my original stock single core AMD processor back in the computer turns on fine. But if i put the Dual core one in and push my power button the screen won't come on it seems like it doesnt have enough power? I know my motherboard may or may not be compliant but is there anyway to go around this?
since it is working on old processor and not in the new processor, you have only two possible solutions. 1. Your new processor is not working; 2. Your new processor is working but it does not match to the motherboard.
No power cpu means no processor connected. You need to verify your motherboard manual if it supports dual core cpu's. Because not all motherboards running in single core cpu supports dual core cpu also, though notice that they have the same socket. motherboard are closely differentiated by the FSB supports, and a single core to dual core cpu has a very wide range of difference. Better go to website of the motherboard manufacturer and download the manual and find out if it supports the dual core cpu.
