iPhone Tethering: How to open ports while using the iPhone like a modem in a PC?

Hello currently my ISP flunked so i am using my iPhone for my pc internet. Very good indeed and i think it will be my internet solution for now until i get a better job.

My problem is that i host a small game server for few people, also i torrent and other stuff that need some open ports on the modem, in this case the iPhone.

Anyone knows a solution for this a detailed answers will be appreciated. Note: forget about the fwalls etc i already know how to deal with those.

Since the ports aren't blocked, there's no way to open them. (It would be like asking how to open the door of the forest.) Modems that aren't also routers don't do address translation, so all 65536 ports are inherently "open".

If you're using a dial-up connection you shouldn't have any problem. If not, your cellular data provider may be blocking ports (and you can't open those - the best you can do is use a port that's not blocked, and use a dynamic DNS service to do a port redirect).
