Server Poweredge
I've a Dell Poweredge 2450 server and have installed raid key and ram. What else do I do to get RAID to work ?
I have purchased systems with the RAID key installed before and they worked fine. I am using the latest Dell OpenManage 4.5 cd and the drives show up but no RAID. There must be a setting in bios or a jumper I am missing. Help!

you are refering to software raid. I am speaking of hardware RAID which is configured before the OS is ever installed. Thanks for trying though.
found the answer. After installing the Raid Key and the dimm module, I had to go back into the bios and select the mode for the onboard SCSI controllers. (SCSI / RAID). Then reboot and go into the RAID Bios config (

are the drives basic or dynamic?
check this in the disk management console.
you need dynamic disks for raid.
