Server Dish
Being picky with food but being a Restaurant Server?
I am a very very picky person when it comes to food. However, the job market isn't that great and most retail jobs use that discriminating "Unicru Test" (the one that no one has the guts to bring a lawsuit up against). And I am failing them left and right. I am looking for something dealing with people (NOT an office job, I almost had a mental breakdown working in one of those prisons) that is part time and possibly flexible on the schedule (since I'm starting college). So, I thought that maybe a server would be a good alternative since a few places local are looking for people. But, I wouldn't be able to accurately recommend any of the dishes because I'm so finicky when it comes to food (I also can't cook to save my life either).
My question is: Should I attempt to get a server job even though I'm not that physically attractive in the face and since I'm an incredibly picky individual?
If you want to serve, do it. I work in a restaurant as a server and there are a few things on the menu I don't care for. If a guest asks "is the twice baked potato good" I will tell them that most people do like it but as for myself I don't care for it, it is really your own personal preference. FYI Most times they will shy away from something if you say you don't like it. Try different things on the menu and find a few things you do like and could recommend. Also usually if you get a job at a corporate place they usually have "sizzle" words in place for you to use to describe the dishes.
As far as attractiveness, it helps but if you are a good server it really does not matter so much.
