What does a RAID setup speed up?
The reason I'm asking is because I still don't completely grasp when a computer is accessing RAM vs. an HDD during something like gaming. So what I'm wondering is when would I see an improvement in speed with a RAID 0 setup?
If you are accessing data that is on two hard drives that are in RAID 0 then you are effectively doubling the bandwidth especially if you use SATA. There will be noticeable speed boost if you access a lot of data.
