Are AMD Opteron processors good for gaming?
I'm upgrading to dual Opteron 242's and I would like to know how good these are with newer games and applications. Are dual 1.6ghz processors better than some of the new single dual core processors?
The dual processors are each single core that go into two separate sockets on the same board, which is usually used for servers.
As far as I know most games are not written for dual core processors so you really won't see a difference. Check out the link below. There is a new Athlon FX 60 dual core... not sure how good it is.
