Is it better to have 2 of the same MBs of RAM sticks or can one be more MB than the other in DDR RAM?
I was reading that I should get two DDR RAM sticks of the same amount of MB RAM in my computer rather than just add one which is larger in MB. I've got 512MB PC3200 184-PIN 400MHz non-ecc RAM now and I want to get a 1GB RAM PC3200 184-PIN 400 MHz non-ecc RAM to add to it. But if I get the 1 GB would that be slower than if I got a 512 MB instead or should I just get two 1GB RAM sticks? I don't have all themoney in the world. I understand Windows Vista is going to require more RAM than Windows XP and I want to be ready to upgrade...
It is best to get two of the same brand, capacity, and have them exactly the same, because it will give you better performance and the make your computer faster.
