British Aikido Board - the lack of respect & Respect

15th/May2007: Today I received A large package from Mrs Pat Woods, the daughter of my old Friend William `Bill` Woods who sadly passed away Last year. I opened the package a gold mine of material As early as 1952. Old newspaper cuttings / old magazines Rare. Pictures of Abe Otani Sensie Sensie and many others. I thought the last time I saw Woods at Sensie Great Kenshiro Abbe Sensei in celebration of 50 Crystal Palace On May 14, 2005. Woods Sensie was, I really believe, the effect Largest on the British martial arts. Is Colonel LJS Judo in 1952. In 1956 he left the LJS and joined With Kenshiro Abbe Sensie and Matsutaro Otani Sensie. Later to be Secretary British Council Judo BJC. BKC and the BAC with companies Combined 35,000 members around the world.

Respect

William `Bill` Woods despite his serious illness persisted His family that he wanted to participate "Kenshiro Abbe Celebrations" His homage to his teacher. Woods Sensei was invited VIP guest. I'm sure someone with such a glorious past, not Would like to see a wheelchair, the determination Such was his, that's how he finally made the event This. He received a fantastic applause from the students Viewers. For me personally, it made the day complete. No Could have shown more respect.

Contempt

Mr. Vincent Sumpter Chairman of the British Aikido Board acted contrary to Absolute William `Bill` Woods Sensei. Council chairman British Aikido Board Mr Sumpter was invited as a guest VIP to represent himself but not his membership in the British Aikido Trustees. Mr. Sumpter did not initially accept the invitation, after Then he turned and announced a meeting of the Executive Av "I Refuses to participate in this event, if you apply the pressure I Participate, I'll resign! "Of course it's totally disrespectful According to one former chairman of the Bab Tony Davis who Infamously stated "We, the British Aikido Board Custodians of history are British Aikido, so I have no interest in him. "No one expects them Be Custodians of UK Aikido history, but They were expecting them to show interest in the history of Their work.
